Our Chapter's purpose is to bring together people interested in the history of Germans from Russia. Through a better understanding and appreciation of our culture and heritage, we will promote the preservation of our history for generations yet to come.

Calendar of Events

October 24,  2009
Our annual Oktoberfest meeting will be at Leisure World Rec II Promenade in Mesa from 11:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.  Our speaker is Fillmore Bender who will discuss, "The Many Reasons we are Thankful our Ancestors came to America."  Celebrate Oktoberfest in style!  Join us for bratwurst which will be provided by the chapter.  If your surname begins with A-K, please bring a salad, vegetable dish or side dish to share.  If you or surname begins with L-Z, please bring a dessert to share. Also please bring your own table service.  Donations will be accepted and sent to AHSGR Headquarters. Please RSVP so we have enough brats and kraut for everyone and to make sure your name is on the list for entry at the security gate.  To RSVP please call Esther Babitzke at 480-641-3711 or e-mail us at ahsgr_sun@cox.net.  Directions to Leisure World: From the west side of Phoenix take US 60 east, exit on Higley Road and turn left to go north on Higley.  At Southern Ave turn right and go about one mile until you reach the first traffic light and turn left into Leisure World.  From the east valley, go to Power Road and Southern Ave.  Go west on Southern until you reach the first opening into Leisure World and turn right.

December 5 at the East Mesa Christian Church, 706 S. Greenfield in Mesa.  This is our annual Christmas Party and potluck luncheon.  Surnames A-L brings dessert to share.  Surnames M-Z brings main and side dishes.  Please bring your donations for the silent auction/raffle.  All proceeds from the raffle will go to AHSGR.  E-mail us at ahsgr_sun@cox.net for further information.
