Chapter's
Purpose
The
purpose
of
the
American
Historical
Society
of
Germans
from
Russia
is
to
bring
together
people
interested
in
the
history
of
Germans
from
Russia.
Through
a
better
understanding
of
Germans
from
Russia,
we
will
promote
a
better
appreciation
of
their
history
and
the
preservation
of
their
culture
through
their
descendants.

Scholarship
Information
The
Glow
Austin-Bruce
Harms
Memorial
Scholarship
was
established
by
the
Central
Oklahoma
Chapter
of
AHSGR
in
memory
of
two
charter
members
who
also
served
as
Chapter
presidents.
It
is
an
annual
scholarship
in
the
amount
of
$500.00
to
be
awarded;
$250.00
each
semester
to
a
descendant
of
a
German
from
Russia.
The
award
is
given
during
the
Oklahoma
All
State
Meeting
in
August.
The
selection
will
be
based
on
the
following
criteria:
- Must
be
a
descendant
of
a
German
From
Russia
- Scholarship
- Need
The
student
must
be
a
full
time
student
(minimum
9
hours).
The
recipient
will
be
selected
by
the
scholarship
committee
of
the
Central
Oklahoma
Chapter.
The
deadline
to
apply
for
the
scholarship
is
July
1
of
the
current
year.
