The purpose of the Special Citation Award is to honor an individual or team who have impacted AHSGR because of a one-time outstanding act or sustained superior performance in a given area of responsibility in support of the mission of the Society or Foundation. The selection committee considers the following attributes during the review process:

• Type of contribution: Time; Expertise; Leadership and Financial.

• Magnitude of contribution: Effort; Duration; Scope of influence required (individual/team/Society/GR community).

• Impact on AHSGR (aligned with the current strategic plan): Ensures financial stability of AHSGR; Expands reach of AHSGR; Strengthens partnerships in Germans from Russia community.
