The AHSGR proudly announces that almost sixteen hours of audio recordings from the Aussiedler Collection are now available through our website. In the early 1990s, a former AHSGR Executive Director travelled to Germany to interview the aussiedlers, German Russians who had moved to Germany after the fall of the Soviet Union. These German Russians formed a “survivors’ community” that gathered and celebrated their freedom as well as their return to their German roots. The aussiedler collection holds over sixty hours of interviews with individuals as they reminisce about their lives in Russia and discuss aussiedler life in Germany.
Additional audio files will be added to the webpage when they become available.
