Die Welt-Post was a popular newspaper read by German Russian immigrants and their descendants. The letters published in the newspaper were an important means of communication for families in Russia to contact relatives in the United States and Canada. The letters share the stories of the Soviet Union’s ethnic Germans during the 1920s enforced famines. Die Welt-Post gave voice to the German Russians to inform the outside world about the repression, persecution, and horrifying nightmare experienced by Unsere Leute. This translation contains many family names.
