1. What are the general and expected duties of a board member?

   1. Hi John,

      The AHSGR board members are expected to participate in board meetings which are typically held in the Fall (October), Spring (March/April), and the Annual Convention (July). Board members are also assigned to participate in 2-3 committees. Since the covid pandemic, we are conducting many meetings virtually, or hybrid in-person/virtual meetings. The level of participation varies with some members taking a very active role and others with more limited involvement beyond the Board and Committee meetings. We seek diversity in geographic location as well as skills/expertise of potential board members. We also consider board member interests and skills in committee assignments. Michael Heil is chairing our Nominating Committee with responsibility for identifying prospective board members. I will ask him to reach out to you to further discuss.

      Thanks for your interest! We have several open positions on our board of directors. The positions can definitely be held remotely. In fact, we want a good geographic distribution that is representative of where our members are located.
