by Gerda Stroh Walker. Boulder, Colorado 1998

Die Welt Post was a German-language newspaper founded in 1916 in Lincoln, Nebraska. The intention was to gather together news about the mass-movement of migrant Germans Russians, news from the homeland, and stories about the new arrivals in the U.S. in one source. But it quickly became much more, even establishing itself as one of the only sources for German-language press in Russia after all foreign “enemy” languages were banned. Gerda Stroh Walker’s 4,277 article summaries are now available for genealogists and scholars alike.
