Grace Congregational Church, North Milwaukee

Wilhelm G. Doos

From the Introduction: This work is based in large part on oral history. The author had occasion to hear many stories from the senior members of the South East Wisconsin Chapter of AHSGR about North Milwaukee, which had a significant community of Russian Germans and about Grace Congregational Church, the center of their religious community. A number of members had attempted to compile a history of this starting back in the 1990, but had never occasion to publish their findings. Minutes from these early meetings, some research from local historical societies, and various newspaper clippings from local newspapers had been kept by some members and were turned over to the author for safe keeping.
